Presume this is the place to put it...

Question - Why is much of the US Sport (particularly NBA) not broadcast in widescreen? Im amazed these days that it isnt, should be the norm for most sports I would have thought, down here 99% of sports are in Widescreen...

It may be a setting with your tv (HD I assume).

Tough to say with you being an Aussie-I don't know shit about the signals down there.

I think 9 x 16 is what you want to get it to fill the widescreen.

EDIT-I think there are settings to allow wide if it's available & go normal if not(I may be totally wrong).

if you are watching a game on an hd channel and the game is not being broadcast in hd, the picture will not be wide

Thanks Lads...yeah I have a brand new Full HD TV and Ive set it so it plays widescreen when filmed in WS and it adjusts to small screen whenever its broadcast that way....might play around with the settings next time it is on....cheers
